You own what we build
Source code, database schema, deployment configuration and documentation are yours at handover. If you want to take it in-house or hand it to someone else, nothing stops you. That is the arrangement, not a concession.
About
Advanced Artificial Solutions is a technology company focused on practical AI and custom software for individuals, entrepreneurs, small businesses and growing organisations.
We build systems that solve a specific, named problem. Sometimes that involves AI. Often it does not — and we will say so, because a language model is a poor substitute for a database query and an expensive way to do arithmetic.
The work ranges from a small internal tool that replaces a fragile spreadsheet, through automating a process that currently runs on somebody remembering to do it, to a complete application with its own database, access control and deployment. The common thread is that somebody has a job that takes too long or breaks too often, and the right amount of software makes it stop doing that.
AI is genuinely useful for a narrow set of things: reading documents and extracting what matters, drafting text a person then approves, answering questions from a body of material, and classifying or routing work. Those are real capabilities and they save real hours.
It is also being sold as the answer to problems it does not solve. Where conventional software is the better tool — faster, cheaper, more predictable and easier to maintain — that is what we will recommend, even though "we built you a database view" is a less exciting sentence than "we deployed an AI agent".
Where AI does apply and your data is sensitive, we can run it entirely on your own hardware. Nothing leaves your network, there is no usage meter, and no third party is reading your documents.
At handover you receive the source code, the database schema, the deployment configuration and documentation written for a person rather than for us. If you want to take the system in-house, hand it to another firm, or simply read it, nothing stops you.
This is the arrangement rather than a concession, and it has a practical consequence: we have to build things that someone else can maintain. That tends to produce better software than knowing you will be the only one who ever looks at it.
We build on open, widely supported technology — PostgreSQL, Docker, Linux, standard languages and frameworks. Where a proprietary service genuinely is the right answer, we will say so and explain what moving away later would involve, so the decision is made with the exit cost visible rather than discovered afterwards.
The most reliable way to protect sensitive data is for it not to leave your infrastructure. Where that is achievable we design for it from the start, rather than relying on a third party's assurances about how they handle what you send them.
You will be told why something is built the way it is, in language you can act on. If a decision has a trade-off — and most do — you hear both sides of it while you can still influence the outcome, not in a post-mortem.
The same applies to cost. If something is going to take longer than estimated, you find out while there is still a decision to make.
Automated tests, documentation, and code written on the assumption that someone else will eventually need to change it. Software is not finished when it ships; it is finished when it can be safely handed on.

In short
Source code, database schema, deployment configuration and documentation are yours at handover. If you want to take it in-house or hand it to someone else, nothing stops you. That is the arrangement, not a concession.
We build on open, widely supported technology. Where a proprietary service genuinely is the right answer, we will say so and explain what it would take to move away later.
Where your data is sensitive, we design so it does not leave your infrastructure in the first place — rather than relying on a third party's promise about how they handle it.
Starting prices are published. Scoped work gets a fixed price before it begins. If something will cost more than expected, you hear it while you can still decide, not afterwards.
A language model is a poor substitute for a database query and an expensive way to do arithmetic. We will tell you when the boring solution is the right one.
Tests, documentation and readable code, on the assumption that someone other than us will eventually need to work on it. Possibly you.
The first conversation is thirty minutes, free, and has no pitch in it. We will tell you whether we can help, roughly what it would cost, and if the honest answer is that you do not need us, we will say that too.
